Princesses in the Kitchen

Margaret enjoyed playing with Olivia almost everyday of last week (my spring break). We were so excited to have EO and Punk in town all week. Margaret and Olivia played really well together. Below they are being fairy princesses in the kitchen. Princesses cook too, right? Margaret was very funny about naming Olivia "Barbie" several times when they played last week! EO really LOVED that! M

Easter Morning

Margaret and I actually slept a little late on Easter morning. I think she sort of forgot about the visit from the Easter bunny before I reminded her! However, once I reminded her, she was on the GO. Margaret was delighted to find a Madeline Story book and a Tea Party game in her Easter basket. She also loved the squoosy ball and a little bit of candy and THANK GOODNESS a new toothbrush. My sweet girl SURE needs it as much as much candy as she has gotten over the past few days! Margaret played with her tea set game while I showered and got ready for church. She was delighted that her daddy, EO, and Olivia joined us for the Sunday school Easter egg hunt and for church. Margaret and Olivia enjoyed hunting Easter eggs, again....I guess it never gets old at this age. They also loved eating snacks and checking out all of the prizes in the eggs before church. After the Easter party, Margaret proudly led her guests into the sanctuary. She looked at them and counted her "three visitors" when "Miss" Patty asked if anyone was visiting church. Margaret was VERY proud to have 3 visitors on her pew. After church, we went to Mom's house to eat dinner and celebrate (really early) EO's 31st birthday. We all enjoyed a great meal and yummy cheese braid, which is a tradition to have for Melissa's birthday.

Easter Egg Hunting with Cousins

Yesterday, Margaret announced that she did not think she could stay with her Daddy anymore because, "he does not know how to fix my hair!" I asked if we could teach him and she laughed and slyly smiled as she adamantly said, "NO!" She was a bit concerned about going to Mimi and Gramps' Easter Egg hunt in her "pretty dress" without her hair being fixed. This morning, Jonathan and Margaret came back to dye some eggs and get her hair fixed before the hunt.
Margaret was so excited about playing with Jule at the Easter Egg hunt. Yesterday she made up and sang a song about how much she loves her cousins. I have such a creative and funny girl!!

She was ready to egg hunt with her pretty hair and bow as she and her Daddy headed off the the hunt.

A Mother to Two Babies

Yesterday Margaret was the very burdened mother of two babies, Madeline and Cindy Loo Who. She carefully packed food for them and put them both in their carriers to get out of the door on the way to my mom's house. It was absolutley hilarious watching her! She kept sighing and saying, "oh, not again", "my babies are sick", "my babies are hungry", "Madeline is not listening".....the funniest part is how serious she was! She started getting a little too serious and not listening to me so I decided to get the camera instead of inciting a battle and getting frustrated with her. Please note the progression of the pictures below and just imagine how busy this little mama was yesterday!
I did help her after she dropped the babies and started to seriously cry. She is really going to be a really good mama someday! I am proud of my girl, even if I was a little frustrated with her slow speed getting out of the door. I need to remind myself to slow down and enjoy the amazing moments of Margaret and the development of her sweet and nurturing personality.

Dying Easter Eggs

On Thursday night, Margaret and I enjoyed a "Maudy Thursday" supper at church. It was very interesting to learn about the traditional Passover meal. Margaret enjoyed eating with her "chuuurch friends" Emma and Anna Banks. There were LOTS of left over boiled eggs after the dinner and the "Creature" (preacher), Miss Patty, sent them home with us to dye. Margaret was really into making all of the eggs really pretty to take back to church for the Easter egg hunt tomorrow.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The first thing Margaret mumbled about 5am was something about the Clemson Tigers--I guess she was dreaming about our favorite team......well the next thing she said (around 7 or so) was "Mommy, I am STILL sleeping!" She is not always a morning person. When I reminded her that she needed to wear green today and that was St. Pat's day, she got a silly smile and said it was her job to pinch anybody that was not wearing green today. I reminded her that her friends may not like being pinched, and she quickly informed me that, "they are only love pinches mommy!"
This afternoon, after a delightful bike ride, we went back to Gug's for supper. Margaret insisted that we take several of her friends (including her Frog that has "turned into a girl since he wanted to wear a princess outfit") because it was Cindy Loo's birthday. She had the frog dressed and Cindy Loo and Madeline in their carriers and their bags all packed when I found her in her room. She had been really busy in the 5 or so minutes that I put clothes in the washer!!

Margaret made and adorable Leprechan hat at school today. She was not all so thrilled about posing with it on today. It will be posted later....hopefully!

First Easter Egg Hunt--YEAH!

Stacie outdid her self again this year with Blakley's annual Easter Egg hunt. All of the kids had a blast! Margaret was a little bummed that she did not find one of the "golden eggs" this year, but "Miss" Stacie gave her a special prize anyway. She felt much better after that! Stacie and Travis were sweet enough to have us eat dinner with them after the hunt. Margaret was delighted to stay and play "even longer than everyone else" to play with Blakley and Jeremy. After the hunt, Blakley decided she needed to wear one of her new bathing suits. The child LOVES to change her clothes. Margaret loved wathing Little Bear and relaxing after lots of egg hunting.

As we left, Margaret hugged both of her friends--it was SOOO sweet!
